The three peaks challenge for Cornwall Hospice care and in memory of Lindsey Jamieson.
In June of 2023 I joined an awesome team of staff from Polymermedics who were walking the three peaks to raise money for the brilliant charity that is Cornwall Hopice Care.
Along with Polymer MD Neil Skyba the plan was to support, Simon, Sharon, Dan and Adam as they were going to walk the three peaks in under 36 hours and remember their dear friend Lindsey and raise money for the fantasic charity that so wonderfully supported Lindsey in her final days as she battled cancer.
Working closely with Polymermedics and providing staff with a continued Health and Wellbeing program I felt it only right to help as much as I could in their endevours. From their training preparation to fuelling their bodies for the tough challenge ahead I wanted to provide all the support I could.
The opening few lines from the blog below sums up greatly why this challenge meant so much to those taking part and to myself giving my time for the benefit of others.
“Often in life we are gifted in knowing of individuals that are just superhuman, the power and energy to light up the darkest of rooms and fill lives with boundless positivity. That friend was Lyndsey Jamieson, a true friend that in 2018 was tragically taken from family and friends by cancer with such devastating impact that lives were changed forever.”
The memories made and friendships formed during the three peaks will last with me for ever, and speaking with other members of the team this was a big take home for all of us. It is the making of the memories for those who are no longer able to that rewards greatly and make us feel alive to.
