Why is dieting so hard?

Dieting is hard, even the use of the word diet invokes fear of dread. But whatever way you phrase it, calorie reduction, lifestyle eating, fasting, or food restriction can create even further stress. It’s easy to fill out food journal, or app and count calories, but that doesn’t always lead to weight loss. I know because I’ve tried it.

There are plenty of reasons why dieting is so difficult, but in this blogpost I’ll look at the ways you can move forward in your thinking.

Dieting is one of the most frustrating things people do. It’s so hard to stick to a healthy lifestyle, especially when you’re surrounded by food and temptation every day.

That’s why I created a nutritional resource with blogs and videos that makes it easy to learn about eating a balanced diet and take better care of your body.

Losing weight is tough. Changing your diet and workout routines can be overwhelming, especially if you’re not sure where to start or what the best plan is. You might have tried fad diets in the past, only to lose a few pounds that quickly come back. The struggle is real, we all love food.

Dieting is so hard.

What you are eating, how much you are eating, even when you eat it can add up to more than one-third of your day. This doesn’t even include exercise — those extra hours spent in the gym or on a stationary bike are also adding up. With so many food options and so little time to actually cook all of them, it’s no wonder people resort to ‘fast’ food — or worse yet, choose to skip meals altogether.

Dieting is hard for many reasons. Often, it’s become a habit or routine. To be successful at dieting, you must understand why it’s so difficult to do and what triggers them to eat more than they should.

Maintaining a healthy diet can be seen as boring and sometimes you just don’t feel like eating something healthy. But there are so many benefits to starting a healthy lifestyle eating nutritious foods. You’re going to feel better and look better too!

We all know that dieting is hard, but it’s not impossible. Food can be a great way to stave off stress, improve your mood and social life, and even fuel your workouts. Understanding these benefits will make you more likely to stick to a healthier lifestyle.

Nutritional wellbeing can be one of the hardest parts of healthly lifestyle process. I believe that when you start eating healthy and exercising, it can be easy to get overwhelmed by all the information out there.  Or, you may not know where to start or what to do next.

That’s why with the Kinetic Wellbeing portal I hope to help you get started, where to start and how to make the process as stress free as possible. I am under no illusion that the process in itself can be a huge stress but starting in the right way with aims and objectives in mind as you be kind to yourself is the key to your overall success.

So why is dieting is hard?

Typically, when people start a diet, they come out of the blocks full of go, becoming super strict or even not eating at all as the pressure is on. After that initial burst of enthusiasm, the reality of sticking with a diet plan sets in, and it becomes difficult to make good choices every day. The only thing you’re hungry for is something that’s not in your plan. So, what can you do?

Here are some tips I’ve learned from experience that will help with your healthy eating goals

Have a relaxed approach –

But be consistant at the same time and make it work for you and what works within your life. When we feel like giving up, our mind makes it sound like it’s the only option. We have to work on beating those feelings with new positive thoughts about health and wellness in order to stick with a diet for the long run. Do the hard work like lots of planning and preparation as this is one of the great ways to make dieting easier. After a hard day the stress of what to cook can be removed with that meal already batch cooked ready to go.

Finding healthier versions of your favorite foods –

Like baked chips that deliver almost all the flavor you love in regular chips but without the excess calories and fat, making smarter swaps without total denial always you to continue to enjoy food. Don’t allow certain foods become forbidden fruit. With the proper mindset and tools, anyone can achieve their weight loss goals. The actions of taking responsibility and being accountabile to yourself and what you want will be your successes.

Its really difficult to get rid of all those bad food habits and learn the new healthy way of eating, exercise, sleep and living. That’s why I have written this blog to help you understand your body’s needs so you can make small changes that are sustainable over time.

Temptation –

Is one of the hardest parts about dieting. When your taste buds are used to sugar and salt, it’s really hard to resist them. But there are a few things you can do to make it easier. One of my main tips is to stay away from processed foods, as they’re full of hidden sugars in the form of high fructose corn syrup.

Food has an emotional connection –

Using food as a stress relief cements that connection in our minds that it is the food that fixes the problem. In fact stress itself can increase the cravings for these high sugar, high fatty foods by as much as 40%. So you can see, changing your actions and thought process around temptation has to come into play.

The tip here is to find other ways of dealing with the stress, the trigger for those foods that maybe arent the best choice. This is now you being more mindful in regards to the food you eat.

Dieting is hard, end of but it is about the process and journey to get there.

Making smarter choices, smarter swaps as you continue towards improved nutritional health, making it fit your lifestyle as you head for positive change rather than total perfection and a life of misery where food becomes the enermy.

Which direction will you take?
